What is Yield in Vesseo?

Yield is a feature that lets you put your USDC to work and earn variable returns directly in the Vesseo app.

How does Yield work?

When you activate Yield, your USDC moves from your Basic account to Rewards and is deposited into Blend, a DeFi lending protocol on Stellar. Borrowers pay interest, and that interest is what makes your balance grow.

It’s important to remember that the APY is variable and can change at any time.

Where is my USDC deposited?

Your USDC is deposited into Blend, a DeFi lending protocol built on the Stellar network.

Is the yield rate fixed or guaranteed?

No. Yield returns are variable and not guaranteed.

  • The APY changes based on supply and demand in the lending pool.
  • There is no fixed APY
  • There is no guaranteed return
  • The rate can change at any time

Why does the APY change?

The APY changes based on supply and demand in the pool:

  • How much USDC is deposited, and
  • How much USDC is being borrowed

If demand to borrow increases, the APY may rise. If borrowing demand drops, the APY may decrease.

How do I have earnings? Are there payout dates?

There are no monthly payouts or fixed payment dates.

Instead, your balance grows continuously while your USDC is in Rewards. When you withdraw, your earnings are already included in the amount you receive.

Can I withdraw anytime?

Yes. You can withdraw your funds at any time.

How to Activate Yield

  1. Open the Vesseo app
  2. Go to Yield
  3. Review the Yield details (including the current APY)
  4. Tap Activate Yield
  5. Choose how much USDC you want to move from Basic to Earnings
  6. Confirm

Once activated, your USDC will begin earning variable returns automatically while held in Earnings.

How do I withdraw my USDC from Yield?

To withdraw or use your funds, simply move your USDC from Rewards back to your Basic account in the Vesseo app.

  1. Open the Vesseo app
  2. Go to Rewards
  3. Select Withdraw (or “Move to Basic”)
  4. Choose how much USDC you want to move back to Basic
  5. Confirm the withdrawal

Your withdrawn amount includes any earnings accumulated up to that moment.

Can I spend or transfer USDC while it’s in Earnings?

To spend or transfer, you’ll need to move it from Rewards back into your Basic account first.

Does Vesseo control my funds or set the yield rate?

No. Your USDC is deposited directly into the protocol, and returns depend on how the pool performs.

  • Vesseo does not custody your funds
  • Vesseo does not set the yield rate

Is there any risk to using Yield?

Yes. As with any DeFi product:

  • returns are not guaranteed
  • there are risks involved
  • the APY can go up or down

You should only use Yield if you understand the risks of DeFi lending.

Your returns aren’t guaranteed

Yield is variable, which means the APY can go up or down at any time. You may earn more or less than expected, and you could earn no returns during certain periods.

Your funds are deposited into a DeFi protocol

When you activate Yield, your USDC is deposited into Blend, a DeFi lending protocol on Stellar. Because this is a third-party protocol, performance depends on how the protocol and its lending pool operate.

DeFi can have technical risks

DeFi protocols may experience issues like bugs, exploits, or unexpected behavior. In rare cases, these issues could result in the loss of some or all of your funds.

Withdrawals are intended to be available anytime, but delays are possible

Vesseo is designed to let you withdraw at any time with no lockups. However, withdrawals could be delayed due to things like low liquidity in the pool, network congestion, or protocol disruptions.

Vesseo doesn’t control the yield rate or custody your funds

Vesseo does not set the APY and does not guarantee returns. Your USDC is deposited directly into the protocol, and your earnings depend on borrower demand and pool performance.

Rules and regulations may change

Laws and regulations around DeFi may change over time. This could affect how Yield works or whether it’s available in certain regions.

This isn’t financial advice

Anything shared in the Vesseo App or Help Center is for information only and isn’t financial, legal, or tax advice. You should only use Yield if you’re comfortable with the risks, and you understand it.
